This boxy dress sewing pattern is Sarah’s ideal dress. Fitting neatly at the neck and falling straight from the shoulders, this dress has lots of ease and movement. The drop shoulders are cut to create a slight flare above the arm but to sit neat under the arm. It sits just above the knee in all variations. Hey, crop it even more if you want!
The absence of darts creates a loose silhouette, and makes Sarah’s Dress an ideal choice for prints, stripes, plaids, or large scale florals.
Perfect over boots and tights with a floppy hat in the Winter, in a floaty linen in the Summer. The long sleeve version is just delicious sewn up in merino! The t-shirt is just perfect over jeans or under a jacket.
With a variation to suit every shape and fabric choice this staple pattern will be helping you to create the perfect boxy fit wardrobe.
This is a beginner level pattern.
This pattern is sized to fit hips measuring 87cm (34in) to 118.5cm (47in) and chest measuring 80cm (31.5in) to 110.5cm (43.5in).
Suggested fabrics are cotton lycra, vegan leather, cotton jersey, french terry, or cotton wovens.
