What is Girl Charlee?
A love for vintage fabric and my daughter, Charlotte Lee, provide the inspiration for Girl Charlee. In looking for unique clothes to match Charlee’s one-of-a-kind personality, I decided to use vintage fabric to create outfits for her that friends, family, and even strangers could not stop commenting about. Realizing that a lot of parents feel the same way I do about finding distinct clothing for their children the idea for Girl Charlee was born!
Girl Charlee clothing designs are based on patterns from the same era as the vintage fabric used to create them – but with a distinctly modern twist. We pre-wash all fabrics to verify their integrity before we use them to construct Girl Charlee apparel to ensure these items will withstand the rigors of active play. Only original retro-inspired artwork adorns our T-shirts, which are only produced in very limited runs to ensure the same exclusivity as our vintage clothing.
Why Vintage Fabric?
Girl Charlee collects authentic vintage fabric and trim – dating from the 1930s through the 1970s – from around the world to create our brand of clothing. Vintage fabrics are completely unique, and in using them, Girl Charlee offers one-of-a-kind apparel to parents looking for exclusive clothing to accentuate the individuality of their unique children.
Vintage textiles connect us to the past. In using them to clothe our children we incorporate classics into our modern lifestyle and enjoy the luxury and beauty created by previous generations.
