The Bateau Garden Dress is the perfect anytime, anywhere dress for women of any age! This classic silhouette features a beautiful bateau (boat) neck with a scoop back neck. You can choose from the flattering pleated circle skirt or a sleek streamlined pleated rectangle skirt. The optional pettiskirt allows you to add additional 'poof' under either skirt version. Go with all one fabric, mix up prints, add trim - this is the perfect dress to play with. Princess seams will help create the illusion of an hourglass figure while the band nips in the waist and can create a wonderful visual focal point in a contrasting fabric if this is already a part of your body that you love. The invisible side zipper gives a stunning fitted bodice with no elastic, shirring, or sash - but because of that bodice, you are going to want to read the next section carefully!

This is a confident beginner level sewing pattern.
This pattern is available in sizes 00 to 24.

Suggested fabrics are peach skin, and other wovens or twill and stretch denim.
